My earliest memory in life is climbing a lemon tree in the back yard where my family lived until I was 3 years old. It occurs to me that I remember nothing else about that age, and I suspect I have only kept that memory because it was captured on film and put in a childhood photo album.

As I think back to treasured memories even in the past 5 to 10 years I realize the ones that are still most alive and vivid are ones that have been captured in photographs. I am both saddened and frustrated to think of the memories that are slipping away because no one took a photograph that truly captured the moment.

This is the reason I love wedding photography; it is a great responsibility to capture events and personality in a way that the memory will remain authentic and tangible.
