Availability
It has been my experience that wedding venues and photographers are the first two things to book for a wedding. For Summer Saturdays, which are understandably popular, most of my clients book me 8-12 months before their date. After a consultation I will place a courtesy hold on your date for one week, but after that a contract and initial payment of 1/3 is necessary to secure your date.
Photos
I typically deliver 6-800 photos from a wedding. This number can be overwhelming, so about 150 are seperated as my vision for the story of the day. Every delivered photo is edited to the same extent as the photos seen on this site.
Style
Photography style is such an interesting question that I receive. I would be categorized as a “wedding photojournalist”, but even that term has quite the variation in meaning. In my own words, I’m fun, easy-going, and hard working. If you are observant you will notice me running from place to place, but most people never remember me being there. I love color; bright, vibrant color. I hate strict posing that makes you feel like school portraits. I believe photography should capture personality, even if it’s posed to some degree.
Travel
I am centrally located in Lansing, Michigan and photograph frequently from Grand Rapids to Detroit. National and some international travel is available also, just contact me with your specifics and we’ll get talking.
Equipment
I use top of the line Canon cameras and lenses. A critical and often overlooked point on this topic is backup equipment. Your wedding doesn’t happen twice, and for that reason I bring three cameras, at least five lenses, three or four flashes, and your photos get backed up immediately onto three hard drives.
