Susie and Shawn wedding in Troy, MI
Back in October I had a free Saturday and connected with Chicago wedding photographer Nate Mathai to shoot a great wedding with him in Troy, MI. I don’t get many opportunities to second shoot, but I absolutely loved photographing this Indian wedding (with an Orthodox ceremony) because the food was awesome, it was really colorful, and they knew how to party! Nate put up his post of the wedding last week here, and I’m happy to see that a lot of his favorites from me were my favorites also.

Wow that looked that was a good time. My favorite picture is the one where you captured the little boy looking up–that cathedral is so grand they’re getting married in–and you can see that level of grandness in that little boy’s face.

Avelaine, I didn’t use any lighting in the church, it was naturally lit like that, though very dark.

What a wicked wedding. They were getting down on the dance floor! The shot of her dancing with her father is amazing… such a great moment and you captured it perfectly.

These are all very beautiful!! My favorite though is the one of them in the park, orange leaves fill most of the image and they are in the very bottom right corner – that photograph is superb.

Wow Brett! You did an amazing job on these! I LOVE the dancing shots of the bride with her dad and the bride/groom first dance…the lighting is just perfect. You did a really great job on all the dancing shots, looks great!
